WORLD BANK TO DONATE FUNDS TO CROATIA TO RESOLVE Y2K PROBLEM

ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) - The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will donate US$80,000 for the development of the Croatian national programme of solving the year 200 problem. The IBRD will donate the funds via the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Croatian Government at Thursday's session granted the initiation of the procedure on signing an agreement on the donation, which will be the first agreement between Croatia and the IBRD in science and technology. The activities and measures the Croatian Government intends to realise on the basis of the National Programme of Solving the Year 2000 Problem, the millennium bug, will be more effective with the use of the earmarked, non-repayable funds, sources at the Science and Technology Ministry said. From the total amount of the donation, US$24,000 is intended to advisory services of Croatian and foreign experts, US$16,000 for education
