negotiations in Rambouillet on Friday told Hina ethnic Albanians
would sign an agreement on a transitional solution for Kosovo
immediately after negotiations continue on March 15, and perhaps
even earlier.
Kosovo Albanians are intensively debating the document which,
according to Agani, was generally supported.
Agani said those who were not in favour of the agreement had not
offered an alternative.
The proposed agreement represents a compromise, Agani said, adding
the agreement enables a significant degree of self-government, and
in prospect, further direction towards independence.
He stressed that Serbs continued to oppose the deployment of NATO
peace forces in Kosovo to insure the implementation of the
agreement. Agani said Serbia had a negative attitude even towards
positive elements included in the agreement.
The Albanians would endorse the peace process by supporting and
signing the agreement, Agani said, adding however the peace
process' success would also depend on Serbia's standpoint and
resistance to the process.
