ZAGREB, Nov 21 (Hina) - About a hundred workers of the 'Zagrepcanka' meat industry, who on Tuesday morning staged a rally in front of the Economy Ministry building in Zagreb seeking the payment of their salaries for September and
October and severance pays for workers who will be laid off, dispersed around 1pm after a meeting with Assistant Economy Minister Kamilo Vrana. Vrana supported the workers' demands but stressed the company was now within the jurisdiction of the bankruptcy commissioner, as bankruptcy proceedings were initiated today, 'Zagrepcanka' union representatives said. Vrana also promised the union leaders he would see that production was launched and 'Zagrepcanka' shops supplied with goods as soon as possible, as well as that he would seek the establishment of responsibility of those who had caused the current situation in the company. would request the Economy Ministry to issue a statement on its stand
