ZAGREB, Nov 20 (Hina) - About 100 workers of the "Zagrepcanka" meat industry on Monday continued their eight-day-long blockade of Zagreb's arterial roads by blocking traffic at the intersection of Heinzel and Planinska Streets.
Bankruptcy proceedings for the company could be initiated at the Commercial Court tomorrow, union commissioners said. The protesters announced they would continue staging protest rallies since their request for the payment of September and October salaries and severance pays for those who will lose their jobs has not been met. They said they would join the rally of workers from other Zagreb companies, which the Association of Croatian Workers' Unions (HUS) announced for November 24, the day of the Zagreb Summit, should it be held.
