ZAGREB, Nov 21 (Hina) - Representatives of the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) on Tuesday presented letters of thanks to 12 Croatian police officers for their cooperation in preventing drug smuggling in Croatia in the past year.
Speaking at a ceremony at the US Embassy, Croatia's Assistant Interior Minister Dragutin Cestar recalled that the Interior Ministry and DEA had broken a major smuggling chain in Croatia on two occasions. A representative for the DEA office in Vienna, Kevin Scully, said he was proud to present his Croatian colleagues with the decorations and letters of thanks, adding they had contributed to confiscating more than 900 kilograms of cocaine in Croatia this year.
