ZADAR, Sept 27 (Hina) - Joso Nekic, former head of the Constitutional Order Protection Service (SZUP) in the central Adriatic town of Zadar, was released from custody after the Zadar County Court investigation judge issued the order
Wednesday. Charges were leveled against Nekic for suspicion of having had abused his authorities and helped the so-called Ahmici Group in hiding. Nekic spent about 15 days in detention, and was released today shortly after 15.00 hours, after last witnesses in the case, current heads of the SZUP intelligence service, Zvonimir Marinovic and his deputy, testified before the judge. After Nekic was released from custody, his attorney Milan Petricic said that during the investigation process conducted over the past 15 days there had been no evidence against Nekic, nor against any other member of a group of Zadar residents also suspected of sheltering persons suspected of the slaughter of Bosnia-Herzeg
