BIZOVAC, Sept 19 (Hina) - A two-day seminar on war crimes trials in Croatian courts, organised by the Croatian office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, wrapped up on Tuesday in the eastern town of Bizovac. The
seminar was organised for judges, attorneys, and state prosecutors of Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Srijem counties in eastern Croatia. The Croatian Justice Ministry, the Croatian Legal Centre, and The Hague-based Coalition for International Justice joined in organising the seminar, under the patronage of the British Embassy in Croatia. Participants pointed to difficulties related to war crimes trials, discussed solutions for and experience in assisting in ongoing and future trials. The seminar ended with a fake trial at which charges were pressed, an arrest warrant was issued, the case opened, and the defence organised. A round table followed, discussing concrete issues whic
