NEW YORK, Sept 4 (Hina) - Croatia's legislation obliges General Milivoj Petkovic to comply with The Hague war crimes tribunal's subpoena, Croatia's President Stipe Mesic said in New York on Tuesday. Asked to comment on Petkovic's
decision to comply with the subpoena issued by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia that he testify as a witness, President Mesic reminded that "several years ago, Croatia passed a constitutional law on cooperation with The Hague tribunal." "That law obliges both myself and General Petkovic as well as every Croatian citizen (...) it is just the enforcement of a law passed by the Croatian parliament," said Mesic. General Petkovic was subpoenaed by The Hague tribunal as a witness in the Dario Kordic and Mario Cerkez trials.(hina) ha
