ZAGREB, Sept 12 (Hina) - Croatia's Prime Minister Ivica Racan said on Tuesday evening he did not expect unrest in the wake of today's arrests of war crimes suspects around Croatia. Racan said he did not think anyone reasonable in this country was going to protest and cause violence over the arrests of war criminals.#L# The prime minister emphasised the arrests were independent Croatian actions, undertaken without orders from the war crimes tribunal in The Hague. "The action was taken for justice. Democratic Croatia is resolute that those accountable for war crimes will not live freely in this Croatia. The law-based state has come into force," he said. The prime minister added that for too long Croatia had been the hostage to war crimes which had been committed but not cleared. "If this government can't resolve situations of this kind, then it does not deserve a passing grade," he said. For the autumn, Racan announced higher efficiency in dealing with economic crimes and pillage. (hina) ha
