According to Tomislav Vuko, assistant chief commander of Croatia's public fire-fighting units, about 300 fire-fighters took part in putting the flames under control, using 43 vehicles, four 'canadair' aircraft, and four helicopters. The flames burned down over 120 hectares of thick pine-wood, several houses, vineyards, and olive groves. There were no casualties, only several civilians who suffered light injuries and a seriously injured fire-fighter, who was released from hospital in the evening.(hina) ha
