Fire-fighters, 271 of them, are working on putting out a fire which broke out below Promine hill on July 4, and has to date burned 300 hectares of grass, underbrush, and wood. Due to the high number of bush-fires and the gravity of the situation, a crisis centre coordinating extinguishing activities was set up in Drnis yesterday. Other counties have been urged to assist. Due to a fire which broke out near Vodice, the Vodice region, and
Sibenik islands, power went off, the crisis centre reported.
The state information centre reported on a fire in the Dubrovnik
hinterland, at the border between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Fires were also registered in Split Dalmatia County.
