ZAGREB, July (Hina) - Spokesman of the Croatian Interior Ministry Slavko Rako on Thursday denied a statement of representative of the Croatian firefighting association Miroslav Kirincic on planted fires and inflammable small balls
discovered in the northern Adriatic town of Novi Vinodolski. Kirincic told a press conference in Zagreb there were several cases of planted fires. He added firefighters had discovered some inflammable small balls. Rako believes Kirincic presented false information to the public. In his statement, Rako said it was correct that granules of white phosphorus and certain conditions can cause spontaneous combustion. Rako, however, stressed that no fire was caused by white phosphorus so far. The Interior Ministry statement also read that fires were not the result of any terrorist or other subversive activities of persons from Croatia or abroad.(hina) it jn
