ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - A headquarters for coordinating fire-fighting operations in Sibenik-Knin County on Saturday ceased operating following the normalisation of the situation in the county, the Sibenik-Knin police department
reported. Several fires, which broke out yesterday and today, consuming about 70 hectares of grass and underbrush, have been put out. The fires which broke out in the last several days on Mt Mosec and Mt Promina, in the Skradin hinterland and between Biocic and Stikovo, consuming about 1,500 hectares of underbrush, have been put out or contained. Participating in putting out the fires were about 400 professional and volunteer fire fighters from Sibenik-Knin County and other towns from all over Croatia, Croatian army and police members, civilian defence members from Drnis, Sibenik and the Promina municipality.
