ZAGREB, June 19 (Hina) - Croatian Veterans' Minister Ivica Pancic on Monday said he believed the HDZ party's demand for his replacement was actually an expression of fear of discovery that during the time HDZ governed Croatia, there
were organised crime connections at the veterans' and defence ministries. "Members of the army, politicians, physicians were implicated," Pancic told Croatian Television's evening news in the wake of HDZ's demand that parliament probe into Pancic's responsibility. HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) made the demand, according to the party, due to a "hasty and irresponsible disclosure of a list of alleged fake Homeland War invalids." Pancic said the government commission reviewing the invalidity status of Croatia's veterans had done its job with support from Croatian President Stipe Mesic and Prime Minister Ivica Racan, and delivered the results of the
