CRO GOVT ANNOUNCES PARTY STRUCTURE OF OFFICIALS IN MINISTRIES

ZAGREB, June 6 (Hina) - The Croatian Government Public relations Office on Tuesday issued data on the party structure of officials in 19 Croatian Ministries, which show that a little more than half of the officials do not belong no any one party, and the rest come from eight political parties. The information pertains to 164 officials, ministers, their deputies and secretaries. Of them 94 so not belong to any party and 70 belong to eight political parties. Of the 19 ministries, 16 of them (84 per cent) belong to the ruling coalition of six parties, and six are non-party. Most ministers (six) belong to the Social democratic Party, four to the Croatian social Liberal Party, three from the Croatian Peasants' Party and one to the Istrian Democratic Forum, Croatian People's Party and Liberal Party each. Almost the same number of party and non-party are deputy ministers. Out of the 19 assistant ministers. ten of them (52 per cent) are members of one of a party of the ruling six coalition, and nine (48 per cent) are non-party persons. Non-party assistants are more numerous than those belonging to political parties. Out of the 109 assistants, 69 (64.3 per cent) are non-party persons, 39 (35.7 per cent) belong to a party. Besides parties of the ruling six, assistant ministers are also from the Croatian Democratic Union (eight of them) and one from the Serb Democratic Independent Party. Non-party secretaries are by far more numerous from those belonging to a party. Out of the 17 secretaries, 13 of them (more than three quarters) are not in any party, and four belong to a party (three from the Croatian democratic Union and one from the Liberal party).
