OSIJEK, June 10 (Hina) - Since the war the first ship from Hungary
sailed into the port of Osijek on Saturday.#L#
This has been a passenger ship travelling from the city of Mohacs
with workers of leading Hungarian travel agencies, reporters,
Hungarian MPs and Mohacs Mayor aboard.
Since 1990 it has been the first group travelling via the navigable
Danube-Drava route on a study tour.
The purpose of the Hungarians' visit is to re-establish the
navigable route "Danube-Drava" from Hungarian river ports to
Croatian tourist destinations such as Osijek or the natural park
"Kopacki Rit in eastern Croatia, said a tourist worker in Osijek,
Damir Macanic.
The guests will go sightseeing in Osijek, Beli Manastir and Kopacki
Rit.
Mohacs Mayor Szeko Jozsef said he was particularly happy that two
towns friends - Mohacs and Beli Manastir - could continue
cooperating.
"We would like to develop together continental tourism. Therefore
we shall agree that guests who arrive in the Hungarian town of
Mohacs pay organised visits to Kopacki Rit, Baranja, and Osijek and
that Croatian hosts from these areas send tourists to us in Mohacs
and other parts of Hungary," he added.
Mohacs Mayor voiced wish that the ship "Bendeguz" which sailed in
Osijek today, provide a regular service for passengers between the
two cities.
Organisers of Saturday's event were local tourist workers in
eastern Croatia.
