The Wine Forum was opened by Zdravko Jelenovic, advisor on culture and education of Croatian President Stipe Mesic. Jelenovic said the wine forum was one of the most important steps Croatia had made toward Europe. Indigenous wines are part of the national identity, which Croatia
can offer to Europe and the world, said the Minister of European
Integration, Ivan Jakovcic.
The second, commercial part of the Wine Forum, during which
tourists will be able to taste wines from all Croatian regions as
well as the gastronomic offer of the northern Adriatic, will be held
in late September.
