RIJEKA, June 4 (Hina) - Bavarian Radio and Television on Sunday kicked off on Krk Bridge its spring bicycle tour across the islands of Kvarner, Croatia's northern Adriatic bay, with about 500 German tourists participating. Next week,
tourists from the southern German region will cycle through tourist destinations on the islands of Krk, Rab, Cres, Losinj, and Pag. Local residents in each will welcome them with traditional cultural and entertainment programmes. Twenty-two sailboats will transport the tourists between the islands, as well as provide overnight accommodation. The bicycle race, which Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Board of Tourism director Gordana Medved has called very important for promotion, closes with a big party in the seaside resort of Opatija.
