ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Croatia's First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic on Monday received Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Lydia Polfer, the Croatian Government's public relations office said in a statement.
Foreign Minister Polfer is the head of Luxembourg's delegation that is paying a visit to Zagreb to gain an insight in steps new Croatian authorities are taking in the economic and social field. It will take much resoluteness and courage for serious reforms which the Croatian government has initiated with its measures, Luxembourg's Foreign Minister assessed. Polfer added that Croatia enjoyed the support of her country and the European Union in those efforts. She described Croatia's steps in the foreign policy - its entry to the Partnership for Peace and admission in the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in the near future - as very important. Granic and guests from Luxembourg considered the situation in south
eastern Europe and concluded that a pre-condition for the political
stability in the region would be its economic stability.
They also assessed that the relations between Croatia and
Luxembourg were very good but agreed that the cooperation should be
intensified, particularly in the economic sphere.
Speaking of economic problems the new Croatian authorities had
faced, Granic told the guests about steps the Croatian leadership
was taking to recover the country from the current crisis and make
it more attractive for foreign investments and business of foreign
companies.
