ZAGREB, May 10 (Hina) - "There is no ban whatsoever on soldiers' going out," the head of the Croatian Defence Ministry's information department, Colonel Dusan Viro, said on Wednesday when asked to comment on a statement by Croatian
Party of Rights (HSP) MP Velimir Kvesic at today's session of the House of Counties that such a ban was in force. Without revealing the identity of his source, Kvesic said the Defence Ministry has forbidden soldiers to go out due to a protest meeting, which Homeland War associations are planning to hold in Split, with the aim of protecting the dignity of the Homeland War. Viro said those soldiers who are allowed to go out will be able to do so. Soldiers are performing their tasks regularly today, Viro said, reminding that, according to the Armed Forces' Rule Book, soldiers are not allowed to attend protest meetings wearing their uniforms.(hina) mm rml
