ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - The Croatian Homeland War Soldiers' Ministry said in a statement issued Friday that there are currently no legislative options for the fulfilment of requests of the union of mine clearers for the status of bomb
squads to be recognised as Croatian Homeland War soldiers. As the Law on Defence and the Law on the Rights of Croatian Homeland War Soldiers and Members of their Families stipulate that the period of the Homeland War was from May 30, 1990, until June 30, 1996, there is no legal option for mine clearers injured while removing mines to realise the rights of Homeland War invalids or for the families of killed workers to realise the rights of families of killed Homeland War soldiers, the Ministry asserted.
