ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian Defence Ministry and Armed Forces, led by Minister Jozo Rados, on Wednesday laid a wreath and lit candles on the grave of former defence minister Gojko Susak, on the second
anniversary of his death. In a brief statement to the press, Rados stressed Susak was, as a defence minister with the longest running mandate, indisputably responsible for the creation of the Croatian army and state. Under his command, a large part of occupied Croatia had been liberated. It is thus logical that the Defence Ministry pays homage to him, and varying political assessments and controversies should be left to those who deal with them, Rados said. Asked about the controversies, Rados said "this is an official, state gesture and is not an occasion to speak about possible existing political controversies".(hina) lml jn
