ZAGREB CITY ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS ZAGREB, April 19 (Hina) - Zagreb's electoral commission has received 22 lists of candidates for elections for the City Assembly by midnight Wednesday, the deadline for submission of the lists. There are
19 party lists and three lists by independent candidates, Commission chairman Miroslav Sumanovic said Wednesday. For the 50 seats in the Assembly a total of 995 candidates have decided to run. The upcoming elections scheduled for May 7, will be carried out according to the mixed electoral system. A quarter of the councillors, 12 of them, will be elected by the first-past-the-post system in 12 electoral units. Thirty-eight councillors will be elected by the proportional electoral system, in which case the entire city area is one electoral unit. received 22 lists of candidates for elections for the City Assembly
by midnight Wednesday, the deadline for submission of the lists.
There are 19 party lists and three lists by independent candidates,
Commission chairman Miroslav Sumanovic said Wednesday.
