decision will be founded on assessments of the Organisation for
Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Implementation
Council for the Dayton Agreement, OSCE Mission head to Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Robert Barry, said in Sarajevo.
In an interview run by Sarajevo's daily "Oslobodjenje" on Tuesday,
Barry said it was too late to organise general elections according
to regulations of the permanent electoral law because the Bosnian
parliament had refused its adoption in the form in which it had been
presented.
The government budget does not have the funds for the holding of
elections and estimates are that around US$10 million should be set
aside for the general elections.
Barry said the OSCE Permanent Council was doubting the necessity of
continuing financing elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina since local
bodies are refusing to adopt the electoral law.
