ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - A two-day international conference on
marketing information systems in agriculture opened in Zagreb on
Tuesday.
The purpose of the event, which was organised by the Croatian
Agriculture Ministry, is to strengthen and improve cooperation
between domestic and foreign institutions, define further needs in
supporting the agricultural and food market, and help devise a
strategy of development of marketing information systems.
In the next two days, experts from Germany, the Netherlands,
Slovakia, Latvia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and
Croatia will present their achievements in developing marketing
information systems and try to define the possibilities of
cooperation, as well as of the development and improvement of such
systems.
The event will also include the presentation of an annual report of
the Marketing Information System in Agriculture (TISUP), which
operates within the Croatian Agriculture Ministry. The wish of
Croatian representatives is to inform all participants in the
conference, domestic and foreign alike, about data regarding offer
and demand and prices of agricultural products in Croatia, which
are regularly followed by the TISUP.
These systems are a small but inevitable step Croatia has to make on
its path toward the World Trade Organisation.
