VUKOVAR, March 24 (Hina) - In line with an agreement signed in Vukovar on Thursday by the head of the management of VUPIK agricultural and food processing plant, Zoran Mudri, and a union commissioner Zdenko Lovric, some 400 VUPIK
workers discontinued their month-long strike and returned to their places of work on Friday morning. Speaking about the agreement, Lovric, who is the commissioner of the VUPIK branch of the Union of Workers in Agriculture, Food and Tobacco Industry, and Water Management (PPDIV), told reporters in Vukovar today the Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP), which is VUPIK's sole owner, yesterday transferred 6.8 million kuna to the company's account, whereas the remaining seven million kuna would be transferred by the end of May, in line with the January decision of the former government that VUPIK be granted 13.8 million kuna for unpaid salaries.
