Zlatko Tomcic on Wednesday received Stephen Larrabee, a world
export in the field of strategic security and political analyses
and NATO enlargement, the Sabor's public relations office
reported.
Larrabee is an author of studies and books about the future of the
Alliance, and this organisation's adjustment to new challenges,
admission of new member-countries and NATO's policy in eastern
Europe.
Sabor President and this expert discussed prospects of Croatia's
bids to enter NATO and all political, economic and financial
aspects of Zagreb's integration in EuroAtlantic security
structures.
Larrabee informed Tomcic of the proposal an analytical project
which a group for analysing NATO enlargement and national security
(RAND) is preparing in cooperation with the Croatian Government's
Centre for Strategic Studies and Research. The project is about the
political, security and economic strategic frameworks for the
Croatian armed forces' restructuring and accession into NATO.
Results of the project are likely to be important for further
formation of a positive attitude of NATO member-states towards
Croatia's entry in this organisation.
Tomcic expressed Croatia's to enter European integration processes
as soon as possible and thus make up for the lost time owing to the
war and some political reasons, read the Sabor's statement.
