About 1,000 citizens gathered in the square, where the Croatian
National Sabor and Government buildings are located. Around 6 pm,
the protesters started leaving the square.
Earlier in the day, in front of the US Embassy, addresses were made
by the leaders of veterans' associations and several political
parties, of whom most reminded that Blaskic had gone to The Hague
voluntarily, and pointed out that he was sentenced unjustly.
The protest was organised by the Croatian Invalids of the Homeland
War association (HVIDRA).
