ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Jiri Dienstbier, on Saturday held talks in Zagreb with Croatia's presidential candidate Stipe Mesic. The talks focused on the situation in Croatia
following January 3 parliamentary elections, won by the former Opposition, with special emphasis on human rights, Mesic's electoral headquarters said in a statement. Dienstbier voiced satisfaction with the democratic changes in Croatia and some leaders' statements on the need for cooperation with Europe and the entire international community, the respecting of human rights, and compliance with undertaken international obligations.
