ZAGREB, Jan 26 (Hina) - The National Electoral Commission on Wednesday passed a decision on the second round of the presidential elections scheduled for February 7. Presidential candidate of the Croatian People's Party Stipe Mesic and
candidate of the coalition of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS)/Social Democratic Party (SDP) Drazen Budisa gained the right to participate in the second round of the elections. The two candidates gained most votes of a total of nine presidential candidates in the first round held on January 24. As none of the candidates won the majority of votes, namely over 50 percent of ballots cast in the first round of the election, Mesic and Budisa will contest the presidential run-off o February 7.
