ZAGREB, Dec 13 (Hina) - The Croatian Helsinki Committee (HHO) and 27 other non-governmental organisations requested of chief state prosecutor, Radovan Ortynski, to make public the results of an investigation into the death of "Glas
99" programme coordinator, Darko Jurisic, who dies in a car accident under, as they say, suspicious circumstances. In an open letter, the NGOs recalled that the State Prosecution Office last May said it would demand a probe into Jurisic's death and the actions of secret services known as "Chameleon". The NGOs expressed bitterness about the fact that, as far as they knew, the investigation has not yet been completed. They asked of Ortynski to use his authority and inform the public about the results of the investigation. Darko Jurisic dies in a car accident on December 14, 1999, near Slavonski Brod. ZAGREB, Dec 13 (Hina) - The Croatian Helsinki Committee (HHO) and 27
other non-governmental organisations requested of chief state
prosecutor, Radovan Ortynski, to make public the results of an
investigation into the death of "Glas 99" programme coordinator,
Darko Jurisic, who dies in a car accident under, as they say,
suspicious circumstances.
In an open letter, the NGOs recalled that the State Prosecution
Office last May said it would demand a probe into Jurisic's death
and the actions of secret services known as "Chameleon".
The NGOs expressed bitterness about the fact that, as far as they
knew, the investigation has not yet been completed. They asked of
Ortynski to use his authority and inform the public about the
results of the investigation.
Darko Jurisic dies in a car accident on December 14, 1999, near
Slavonski Brod.
The public learnt about the "Chameleon case" from a former HHO
member, Franjo Tot, who told the media that the Defence Ministry's
Security and Intelligence Service had before parliamentary
elections in 2000 asked him to tap the HHO and the "Glas 99" non-
governmental organisation.
