BELGRADE, Dec 4 (Hina) - The command of the Yugoslav Army's Third Corps views the launching of a Hague war crimes tribunal investigation of Gen. Nebojsa Pavkovic, the military chief-of-staff, as an accusation against itself, and has
requested the state "to stand behind its soldiers." In a statement on Tuesday, the Third Corps dismisses commanding responsibility as "legally incorrect" and demands an investigation into crimes that are "exclusively individual responsibility." The statement further says that when the commander of the Third Corps is taken to task for "committing some crimes in Kosovo, then it is as if the crimes were also committed by all the soldiers of the Corps, 130,000 of them." The statement also asserts that the military should answer only "to its own state and its own people."(hina) ha sb
