BELGRADE AUTHORITIES BELGRADE, Dec 6 (Hina) - Yugoslav authorities have been given support for further engagement in the stabilisation of the situation in southern Serbia and Kosovo, the president of the Yugoslav and Serbian state
coordinating body for Kosovo, Nebojsa Covic, said upon returning from NATO's seat in Brussels. Speaking to reporters in Belgrade on Wednesday, Covic said the NATO leaders "reiterated guarantees for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the FRY (Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) and Serbia in Kosovo." The European Union advocates the resumption of talks on the rearrangement of relations within the federation, said Covic. He asserted the Union "doesn't view the referendum (on Montenegro's independence) as a priority issue," and added the EU representatives "didn't mention the possibility of reorganising FRY as an alliance of independent states."(hina) ha
