Croatian civilians and soldiers went through in Skabrnja. Ten years ago to the day the then Yugoslav People's Army and Serb paramilitary troops occupied Skabrnja and killed 43 Croatian civilians and soldiers. During the several years of Serb occupation of the town, the number of victims rose to 86. The commemoration was attended by deputy veterans' minister, Blazenka Gogic, on behalf of the government, Ivica Kostovic and Baltazar Jalsovec on behalf of the Croatian parliament, and other state officials. Wreaths were laid at a memorial erected at a mass grave where the victims were buried in Skabrnja.(hina) lml
