ZAGREB, Nov 2 (Hina) - Croatia on Friday identified a Croatian citizen arrested by Swiss authorities in Zurich as Zorana Banic, an ethnic Serb female nurse who was convicted in 1998 for war crimes against civilians in the southern
Croatian village of Skabrnja in 1991, the Croatian Interior Ministry said. Interpol Bern had notified the Zagreb Interpol office of Banic's arrest on Thursday. An arrest warrant after Banic was issued in 1998, Interior Ministry spokeswoman Zinka Bardic told reporters. According to her, the Justice Ministry is authorised to request Banic's extradition. The Justice Ministry now has 40 days to demand her extradition.
