ZAGREB, Nov 16 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Friday accepted a request by the Internal Affairs and National Security Committee that the audit reports for the ministries of internal and foreign affairs and defence be unsealed.
The Committee submitted the request with the explanation that citizens should know how the ministries had been spending budgetary funds last year. The parliament this morning also supported a bill on a financial agency and endorsed an electronic signature bill in the first reading. The parliament has started a voting procedure about a proposal by the Credentials and Privileges Commission that Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) deputies Ivic Pasalic, Drago Krpina and Ivan Jarnjak be stripped of immunity because they are suspected of encouraging abuse of office in the privatisation of the Slobodna Dalmacija daily in 1993. The 18th parliamentary session started with a minute of silence in
memory of Vukovar and Skabrnja victims and Croatian soldiers and
civilians killed in the Homeland War.
