ZADAR, Nov 10 (Hina) - Justice Minister Ingrid Anticevic-Marinovic said on Saturday she had signed a request to the Swiss authorities for the extradition of Zorana Banic. Banic, whom the Croatian judiciary sentenced to 20 years in
prison for war crimes against civilians in Skabrnja in 1991, was recently arrested in Switzerland. Anticevic-Marinovic is confident Banic will be extradited soon. Commenting on Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic's recent statement that Ante Gotovina, indicted by the Hague war crimes tribunal, had most probably escaped from Croatia, the justice minister said this did not mean the rule-of-law did not function. "Not one police force or judiciary can ever find every suspect as in that case we would have an ideal state," she said.(hina) ha
