BELGRADE, Oct 26 (Hina) - Representatives at Vojvodina's parliament on Friday expressed a vote of confidence in Nenad Canak, the speaker of the northern Yugoslav province's highest legislative body, after a group of MPs earlier today
initiated his replacement. MPs of the Democratic Party, which is led by Serbia's Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, requested taking a vote of confidence in Canak over an Oct. 9 incident at the building of Novi Sad TV which saw him removing a plate with the inscription RTV Serbia dissatisfied with personnel changes at this radio and television station. Canak told reporters the vote against his replacement proved that Vojvodina's MPs "do not consent to dictates from Belgrade."(hina) ha sb
