SARAJEVO, Nov 15 (Hina) - Two Bosniaks, sentenced by a Croatian court to prison for attempting to assassinate Fikret Abdic, were given back their jobs in the Bihac police department after having served their sentences and returning to
Bosnia-Herzegovina, and worked in the police until they were discovered during a check-up by international police forces (IPTF) in the country. A spokesman for the UN Mission in Sarajevo, Stefo Lehmann, said on Thursday the IPTF Commissioner, French Gendarmerie General Vincent Courderoy, had decided that Dervis Demirovic and Hajrudin Halilagic should be immediately dismissed. The two have been forbidden to ever again perform police duties, Lehmann said. IPTF investigators are currently checking the history and police files of all employees in the Bosnian police structures to see if they meet the necessary requirements and professional criteria.(hina) sb rml
