WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (Hina) - The United States on Friday hailed the decision of Belgrade's authorities to arrest two Bosnian Serbs, brothers Nenad and Predrag Banovic, and extradite them to the International Criminal Tribunal for the
former Yugoslavia (ICTY) where they would be tried for war crimes committed in the Keraterm prison camp near Prijedor in Bosnia. This is another confirmation of Belgrade's determination to cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal, spokesman for the State Department Richard Boucher said Friday. He stressed the US still considered the arrest and extradition of war crime indictees one of the most important goals of its policy in the region. The US calls upon everybody, particularly Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, to surrender to the ICTY and the governments of the region to entirely cooperate with the Hague-based tribunal in order to achieve stable and permanent peace, Boucher said.(hi
