SARAJEVO, Oct 24 (Hina) - Both parliamentary houses of Bosnia's
Croat-Muslim federation on Wednesday adopted a law on this entity's
radio and television network, which has provided the legal
foundation for the start of broadcasting announced for Saturday.
The federal network is structured as a public radio and television
service.
Under the law, the service includes two radio and two television
channels. Attention will be paid to balancing the representation of
the Croatian and Bosnian languages.
The office of the international community's High Representative in
Bosnia confirmed the broadcasting of Croatian Television
programmes on Bosnian territory would stop on Saturday as all
existing land transmitters on the federation's territory would be
taken over by the federal network.
The radio-television networks of the federation and Bosnia's other
entity, the Republic of Srpska, should cede part of broadcasting
time to the Public Radio-Television Service, Bosnia' umbrella
radio-television institution. It is uncertain when the latter
might become operational.
