SARAJEVO, Oct 2 (Hina) - Two men from Bosnia-Herzegovina, one from
Egypt and one from Jordan, who were arrested by members of the NATO-
led Stabilisation force (SFOR) last week, will remain in custody

Sarajevo on Tuesday.
The SFOR last week arrested the four men suspected of being involved
in terrorist activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Morrell told reporters the SFOR had confiscated documents,
computers and between DM100,000-200,000 in cash, adding the four
suspects were not armed. The spokesman stressed that everything
irrelevant for the investigation would be returned.
Once the investigation is completed the suspects could be handed
over to local authorities in Bosnia, because only Bosnian
authorities are competent to issue an indictment.
The SFOR cannot start such procedures. The arrests were conducted
in line with the SFOR mandate which had been given to us to preserve
peace in Bosnia and remove possible threats to security, Morrell
said.
Sarajevo media on Monday published more information on the arrested
persons. According to the "Ljiljan" weekly, Abd-Elhalim Khafagi
from Egypt and Jehad Ahmad El-Jamal from Jordan, a German resident,
were arrested in Hollywood hotel. The weekly claims the two men were
completely innocent. They allegedly arrived in Sarajevo to order
the publishing of the Koran from a local publishing house.
According to Bosnian television, the other two arrested men are
Bosnian citizens working in the "Mak" humanitarian organisation,
which is financed by the Senior Saudi Committee.
The two men are Nihad Plavcic and Alen Harbas. They are allegedly
suspected of participating in the illegal smuggling of weapons. The
SFOR found DM120,000 in their offices.
