SFOR CONFIRMS ARREST OF FOUR SUSPECTED TERRORISTS

SARAJEVO, Oct 1 (Hina) - Members of the NATO-led Stabilisation force (SFOR) last week arrested four persons suspected of being involved in terrorist activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, read a statement released from the SFOR headquarters in Sarajevo on Monday. The statement said the arrests were conducted in line with the SFOR mandate and in cooperation with local authorities. Sarajevo media published more information on the arrested persons. According to the "Ljiljan" weekly, Abd-Elhalim Khafagi from Egypt and Jehad Ahmad El-Jamal from Jordan, a German resident, were arrested in Hollywood hotel. The weekly claims the two men were completely innocent. They allegedly arrived in Sarajevo to order the publishing of the Koran from a local publishing house. According to Bosnian television, the other two arrested men are Bosnian citizens working in the "Mak" humanitarian organisation, which is financed by the Senior Saudi Committee. The two men are Nihad Plavcic and Alen Harbas. They are allegedly suspected of participating in the illegal smuggling of weapons. The SFOR found DM120,000 in their offices.
