indictees in the "Tisak case" will be repeated because the
exemption request of Kutle's defence referring to Ksenija Grzin,
who chairs the panel of judges conducting the trial, has been
accepted.
The president of the Zagreb Municipal Court, Djuro Sessa, confirmed
to Hina today judge Grzin had been exempt from the trial but the
defence's request that Dominika Hecek, another member of the panel
of judges, and himself also be exempt, had been rejected.
On October 4 the defence submitted exemption requests but refused
to state the reason for such a move.
The media then speculated the requests were based on criminal
charges the Ingra company pressed against judge Grzin for forging
documents, a case which has not been solved yet. In July this year,
the media said that Grzin, before she became a judge, had worked for
Ingra, where she was accused of forging documents, and that another
member of the panel of judges, Dominika Hecak, had been employed
with Ingra as well.
Kutle, charged with inciting to fraud and causing 47 million kuna
worth of damage to Tisak, was arrested and placed in custody in
early February last year.
At the beginning of the trial in mid-October last year, Kutle and
other indictees pleaded not guilty to all charges from the
indictment.
After 15 months of detention, Kutle was released from the Zagreb
County Prison in mid-May this year.
