OSIJEK, Oct 4 (Hina) - The trial to Stjepan Petresev and Stipan Sendzeri from the east Croatian town of Batine in Baranja began on Thursday at the Osijek county Court for genocide. The Croat Petresev and Hungarian Sendzeri are
indicted of genocide against Croat and Hungarian civilians in Croatia from August 1991 to the autumn of 1995. They are accused of exiling all non-Serb population from Batine, and physically and psychologically abused the civilians, together with the occupational ex-Yugoslav People's Army and Serb paramilitary troops. The suspects have pleaded not guilty on all counts, stressing they did not abuse anybody.(hina) lml
