All formalities about the agreement will be concluded by next
Thursday, (25 October), when final documents on the transaction
should be exchanged by PM Racan and the DT management's chairman,
Ron Sommer. They also convene a news conference on that occasion.
Racan described this transaction under which DT became a majority
owner of the Croatian company holding 51 percent of its shares as
the biggest privatisation job since he and his cabinet had come to
power.
He hopes that this deal will prove that foreign investors can have
confidence in the Croatian economy.
Premier entrusted Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic and Transport
and Communications Minister Alojz Tusek with a task to draw up a
comprehensive report on the matter for the parliament.
The agreement on DT's purchase of another 16 percent of HT's stocks
was initialled on 13 July this year. Until then DT held 35 percent of
the Croatian firm's shares.
