KRPINA DENIES REPORT ABOUT HIS IMPLICATION IN 'SL. DALMACIJA' CASE

ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - Drago Krpina, a Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) parliamentary representative, has said he will voluntarily give up from his parliamentary immunity if the Sabor receives the request for stripping him of such immunity over the case of the ownership transformation of the "Slobodna Dalmacija" daily. At a news conference on Wednesday, Krpina denied allegations, published in Tuesday's issue of this paper, that he was involved "into murky privatisation" of that press house. "Slobodna Dalmacija" published an article reading that state prosecutors in Split broadened an investigation in the ownership transformation of this company last Friday, and that they are likely to ask the annulment of the parliamentary immunity for HDZ MPs Drago Krpina and Ivic Pasalic. Krpina labelled the whole story as politically motivated imputations and intimidation of all who oppose, as he said, the Ivica Racan regime. The HDZ leader believes that it is the case of "the orchestrated media campaign against him as a HDZ MP. Krpina claimed that authors of the campaign were "(the State Prosecutor) Radovan Ortynski and Premier Ivica Racan." (hina) sb ms
