PODGORICA, Oct 8 (Hina) - Montenegrin Prime Minister Filip Vujanovic said the decision of General Pavle Strugar to surrender to the Hague war crimes tribunal was the right move, but stressed the Montenegrin government would give the
tribunal all the necessary guarantees so that Strugar could defend himself in freedom. "Once the request that Strugar be allowed to defend himself in freedom is integrated in the defence's move, Montenegro and its government will guarantee that Strugar will be guarded in an adequate way in Montenegro and report to the tribunal from here when necessary," Vujanovic told the independent daily 'Vijesti'. Vujanovic expects the Hague tribunal would bear in mind the fact that Strugar is an elderly person and of poor health. "I expect the defence's request that Strugar defend himself without being detained will be considered very seriously," Vujanovic said.(hina) rml
