ZAGREB, Sept 12 (Hina) - A total of 23.15 million overnight stays were reported in Croatia in the first seven months of 2001, which is a 15% increase as against the same period last year. Tourist arrivals increased by 13% to 4.4
million, the State Bureau of Statistics reported. According to the Bureau's data, most overnight stays in the said period were made by foreign nationals, who accounted for 20.32 million stays (18% more than last year). There were 3.6 million or 16% more foreign arrivals. Domestic tourists accounted for 2.8 million overnight stays, which is a 2% drop as against last year. In the same period domestic tourists accounted for almost 783,000 arrivals (1% more). Germans accounted for the largest number of foreign arrivals (26.8%), followed by Slovenes (14.2%), the Czech (13.7) and Austrians (10.1%).(hina) rml
