NUMBER OF TOURISTS IN CROATIA INCREASES BY 19% IN RELATION TO 2000

ZAGREB, Sept 11 (Hina) - According to the Croatian Tourism Bureau, 179,615 persons were vacationing along the Adriatic coast on Monday, namely 19 percent more than on the same day in 2000. Association's data dating September 10 read that the number of tourists in all Adriatic counties was twice as low as the last week's number, however, in all counties but Lika-Senj, the number of tourists increased by 10 percent in relation to the year before. The majority of registered guests were foreigners, namely 74,626 tourists or 20 percent more than last year. The number of tourist in Dalmatia increased by 20 percent in relation to the year before, namely 74,626 tourists chose this southern Croatian region as their tourist destination. Istria follows with 63,237 tourists (16 percent more than last year), Kvarner with 41,752 (22 percent more), Primorje-Gorski Kotar with 39,821 tourists
